Who showed me what it means to overcome all obstacles and

achieve your dreams. This remarkable woman, who raised six

girls as a single parent while working her way off of welfare

to homeownership, writes:

My beloved children, I come before you once again. As I

looked into the mirror today, I saw a drawn face. It was not

recognized as a beaming wrinkleless face but a strained,

aged, problematic, hard, stressful, sad, almost unrecognizable

image.

Even though there is no pain, there's pain of thought. Feeling

the pain of thought of growing old pulling on my face with a

burning aching strain.

I looked back at the reflection in the mirror and a smile came

across my face and I murmured, “I'm Beautiful. I'm a beautiful

person, I'm a beautiful child of GOD and the Universe for

Beauty is within.

So my lovely, gorgeous, pretty young ladies take care of that

youthful image in the mirror before it fades away in the dust

like we all must do down the road a bit. There's no turning

back wishing I shoulda’, woulda’, coulda’ saved my precious

image in the mirror.

One can never truly accomplish anything meaningful without the help of trusted, competent people who support your vision and dreams. I am truly blessed because of the significant people who believed in making a difference in the world and whose ministry personally impacts my life. Dr. Mark Chironna has been an invaluable mentor, life coach, and friend. His brilliant style of ministry has not only challenged me to reshape my inner world but has tremendously impacted the development of my divine destiny. Because of his caring and visionary approach, I now see with clarity, a phenomenal future filled with endless possibility and abounding potential. The prophetic ministry of Dr. Chuck Pierce has literally transformed my existence in very practical ways. With his prayer focuses and timely prophecies, I was able to cycle out of some very dysfunctional patterns and make stride toward my apostolic and prophetic calling to the nations. In addition, we are honored that Cathedral of Praise Community Church and International Kingdom Strategy Center, where I have served as the senior pastor since 1997, is recognized as a “Church of Zion.” This connection with Glory of Zion International strengthens our resolve to see the powerful prophetic flow of deliverance transform people’s lives to help them reach their fullest potential while expanding God’s Kingdom. This significant connection is key to helping me personally realize the magnitude and scope of my destiny internationally. I thank God for prayer general, Dr. Cindy Trimm, who I am privileged to call friend. By God’s Divine Design she was brought into my life as a catalyst to move me into a realm of power and faith that delivers me right into my divine destiny. Her brand of ministry has dynamically catapulted me into a greater sense of apostolic purpose. I better understand who I am and where I fit in the scheme of God’s Kingdom order for this hour. God had fixed it so that at this time in my life I can gain leadership, direction and fathering in a way that advances me toward my purpose and destiny. This connection has proved productive for ministry as I am mentored and exposed to new and effective models for ministry, higher dimensions for Kingdom enterprise and greater levels of ministry success. If these associations and connections are any indication of what my future will bear a resemblance to then I am on the pathway to greatness. I am humbled that God would put such competent people in my life to look to for destiny direction.

And to President Barack and Michelle Obama, your vision has restored my hope in my destiny and the American Dream and that we can do all things…YES WE CAN!

FOREWORD

Quantum scientists have now confirmed what the Bible revealed to us centuries ago, that there are parallel worlds and "portals" that give us access to them all. Using the door as a metaphorical expression, Dr. Adams takes us on a scholarly journey and offers us a destiny altering practical guide to discovering and mastering the secrets for success, happiness and prosperity. In my younger years I used the word destiny synonymously with the word purpose until I realized that they were not one in the same. INTRODUCTION

If you have ever wondered about your purpose and your reason for being on the planet, then this book is for you. It was designed with you in mind to help you on your journey of self-discovery and the fulfillment of your unique and marvelous destiny. My desire is to help you gain a sense of clarity and self-worth and to begin your journey with the understanding that you were created to do something great in the world. Regardless of where you are or where your life seems to have taken you, you have a phenomenal destiny that is divinely designed by God. Sometimes our lives can spin far out of control and end up in the strangest places. We can be oblivious to how we got there. This is certainly not what we hoped for or imagined, nor does it resemble any of the dreams we’ve had and is not what we envisioned. What makes matters worse is that we stay in that unfamiliar place longer than what is imaginable. One day we turn around and our lives look unrecognizable so we begin our indelible quest for meaning.

Then there are times when we simply stand in the doorway to our destiny peering in and hoping to go through, but fail. This is when we begin to recognize that we need a power greater than ourselves to deliver us from where we are to where we should be because our own attempts become futile. And for some reason, we just cannot seem to keep ourselves out of the emotional danger zones that deny us our true destiny. We continue to be drawn into these places with a hypnotic pull that we feel powerless to resist. We try to convince and delude ourselves that it is not quite as bad as we think. Then we make threats to leave because it is more than we can stand … but we never do. Other times we are held captive by our thoughts that tell us we are better off leaving things the way they are rather than exert the energy that demands change. Then we try to make our dysfunctional circumstances work for us and for as long as possible. Sometimes it seems like it is less trouble to just remain in our painful circumstances rather than to fight the forces that are ruining our lives.

For years I told myself these kinds of lies because I did not have the courage nor the skills to make the dramatic changes I needed to align my life with my destiny and a place of wholeness. I was told early in my life that I should be careful about the decisions that I make because “I know what I have, but I don’t know what I am going to get.” I governed my life, thoughts and actions by this unfounded but familiar adage. Then, I came to the realization that although I was unsure about my future, I was completely convinced that anything was better than what I was experiencing in my present! That awakening was the first step toward realizing my destiny.

If we are to reach our destiny, our only hope is to recognize that it is already divinely designed by God. More importantly, we also need to realize the necessity of aligning and cooperating with the power of God before our destiny can be fully realized. Destiny: by Divine Design is a metaphorical journey of the many divinely designed doors that we must go through to fulfill our ultimate purpose in life. In order to find our liberation from lifestyles that bind us we must be repared to strategically realign, reinvent, and re-create our lives to look more like the destiny dream God has for us. We must understand that God, the Master Architect, has artistically fashioned a design for our lives.

And because we are a God Idea, we must be able to conceive the highly detailed schematic that is unique to each and every one of us. Coming into a right relationship with God is the first step to the recovery of what our lives should be. You need to embrace the fact that every detail of your life is created as part of a larger pattern whose final graphic presentation is nothing short of astounding. It is when we come to the realization that we are God’s workmanship and His Divine project that we appreciate every motif and flourish that God adds that brings depth in our lives. We also embrace every object strategically placed in our lives and believe that God will work all things together for good to produce the masterpiece of our destiny.

More often than not we expect an instantaneous blessing. But one thing that we should be clear about in this “microwave” society is that our destiny discovery is not immediate. There is a process that we must go through in order to be transformed into the new creation of our destiny. This process is experienced in many dimensions of your life and on many levels. It takes time for old things, in particular dysfunctional habits and patterns to cease and for us to be rescued from the bondage that entangles us. Sometimes we don’t realize that it takes a lifetime to develop unhealthy cycles and circumstances and this, no doubt, takes some time to undo. But it is also important to note that when we make the arduous journey toward the wellspring of wholeness, it becomes more difficult to return to wastelands of bondage. If you can make adjustments to your thoughts and actions by incorporating a new divine mental diet using the powerful word of God, you can break out of unhealthy vicious cycles. Then we know that the process is worth the trip.

When we begin to mature in our understanding that our complete cooperation with a corrective course of action is needed, then we can begin the journey toward wholeness and the discovery of our destiny. If we are not careful to develop healthy protective mechanisms and learn new skills, we may find ourselves frustrated and worse off than before. It may be the fight of your life, but you must persist.

This book is designed help you think more carefully about where you are and where you want to be. This is your opportunity to take a deeper look at your inner thoughts and habitual patterns as the real culprits that maintain a lifestyle of unfulfillment and defeat. You will have the opportunity to make destiny decisions to go through many doorways in the Master Architect’s design. As you explore the three dimensions of your destiny in your past, present and future, there are many more steps that you will discover are needed to fully realize your destiny but don’t despair. Once you embrace this revelation, there is nothing that can stop you on your journey toward realizing your dreams and fulfilling your destiny. You will have the opportunity with every chapter to get in touch with yourself and God and open a destiny dialogue about where you are and where you are going.

Be sure to obtain the companion Destiny: by Divine Design Diary as a resource to help chart your personal destiny diagnosis. In it you will have the opportunity to record your destiny dialogue and life changing decisions as well as make destiny declarations that will secure your future. You will also want to obtain the “Destiny: by Divine Design Discovery Handbook” to help you chart the course to your destiny by more completely assessing every area of your life. As you prepare to approach the design of your destiny, think critically and carefully about the steps you are about to take. Recognize the inevitable process that comes with realizing one’s destiny and be determined to persevere. My objective here is to help empower and equip you with the tools to get you in touch with yourself and in touch with your dreams. The power lies within you to set sail in a new direction toward your destiny. But once you decide to begin your journey, you must be aware that there will be obstacles. I want to encourage you to set your sights and vision high and press toward the mark. You are on your way to be delivered right into your divine destiny.

As one who is familiar with the many difficulties in life, I have intentionally positioned myself to discover the design of my divine destiny and I have sat at the feet of many mentors. I understand that I cannot arrive at my destiny solo. I need the help of seasoned individuals who have treaded out the course before me to show me the way. As I connect to the vision that God has for my life, with their guidance, I have purposed to readjust, reinvent, and redesign my mental world as a mechanism to come closer to the picture that I see in my heart. I have embraced the vital understanding that it is the choices I make that create many of the outcomes in my life. I am no longer a victim of my circumstance but a victor with a powerful destiny.

Over the past 20 years, I have helped countless individuals all over the world to realize and lay hold of their destiny. Many have gone back to school, gotten better jobs, opened businesses, become leaders, and developed a deeper relationship with God. I present this material for your personal advancement, not as one who has arrived at destiny but as one who is delightfully watching as destiny unfolds. I share with you the joys and the challenges of my journey as well as some insights in hopes that you may be strengthened in your resolve to press forward and overcome every obstacle to reach your goals.

You may want to think of me as your own personal life coach and “divine destiny doctor” who is, like a chiropractor, here to help realign you. Or like an ophthalmologist who is here to help you see your future more clearly. Or maybe even like a cardiologist, here to help you realize the dreams that lie deep within your heart. My desire is to help you to achieve your goals, fulfill your destiny, and live the life you dream about. Remember, God’s plan for your life is designed to help you understand just how powerful God created you to be. Make a destiny decision to prepare yourself for the journey of a lifetime.
